This is the bull (pictured below and on home page) Tullayr Simmentals is using in the AI program this year, Bar 5 SA P Expert. A good soft bull with a moderate birth weight, displaying 100/100 pigmentation and the Homozygous polled genes. Just to name a few traits that our clients want, and what we can deliver!! We are very excited to see the style and type of progeny produced.

What is even more pleasing, is that one of this years bulls sold to a stud for use over their registered females. This is evidence of the quality of bulls and the type of cattle produced here at Tullayr Simmentals.

Spring 2011 is here and as such the calving season is well underway. We are very happy with the calves so far with good birthweights as well as being well pigmented. The cow herd is away on agistment as winter was tough at home, they have had to tough it out during winter, but will pick up going into spring.

RAS Rural Achiever success
The year 2010 has started of in a very positive fashion with my selection as a 2010 Rural Achiever. The program is run in conjunction with the Sydney Royal Easter Show and aims to recognise young and ambitious members of rural NSW who make a positive contribution to their community. My involvement as a committee member of the Upper Hunter Beef Bonanza and ambitions and goals with respect to future business objectives relating to my stud, were all contributing factors to my selection success. My role as a Rural Achiever will see me partake in many activities throughout the duration of the 2010 Sydney Royal Easter Show. It gives me a great opportunity to meet other like minded young people as well as making contacts and establishing networks that potentially will assist me with further developing Tullayr Simmentals.
Tullayr to exhibit at Sydney Royal

Tullayr is excited to announce that they will be exhibiting again at the 2010 Sydney Royal Easter Show. Zoe was exhibited twice as a heifer at Sydney, on both occasions being placed second in strong classes. Zoe is a large, structurally sound, free moving cow with plenty of depth and volume. Her heifer calf looks to be an exciting prospect for the future. We look forward to showing, please feel free to pop into the sheds to say G'day.
100% clearance
This year has been an exciting and progressive year for Tullayr Simmentals. The year 2009 saw us sell our largest number of bulls to date along with our highest average. In total 5 out of 5 bulls were sold with a respectable average of $2400. Bulls were sold to many regions across NSW and we look forward to hearing about their successes within our clients herds.
Female purchases
Tullayr has recently selected and acquired 4 more cows based on Wondenia genetics. These cows were purchased with bull calves at foot and look set to grow into promising sires. They display excellent muscle patterns as well as being mostly polled with full pigmentation. We look forward to monitoring their progress as we continue to assist you with providing superior simmental genetics.
Sale toppers
Recent cull cows toped Scone fat sales reaching 138 cents a kilo, with an average weight of 740 kilograms, grossing $1021 each.
